January 25 – CISFC convened the 2019 Annual Work Conference titled “Promoting the Sustainable Growth of Insurance Industry through Reform, Innovation, and Greater Risk Resolution Capacity.”
March 11 – CISFC held the 16th meeting of the Second Board of Directors, which considered and adopted four proposals including the Proposal on 2018 Work Review and 2019 Work Plan (Draft) of the Company.
April 2 – CISFC published the 2018 China Insurance Consumer Confidence Index Report. According to the Report, the China Insurance Consumer Confidence Index (CICCI) stood at 71.9 in 2018, 43.8% higher than the neutral value of 50. Within the range of high confidence, the index indicates that insurance consumers were optimistic and confident about the insurance industry.
April 19 – Shan Yi was appointed a member of the Party Committee of CISFC in accordance with the relevant documents of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC). On July 16, CISFC held the 18th meeting of the Second Board of Directors, approving to appoint Shan Yi as Deputy General Manager.
April 21 – CISFC adjusted its internal organizations and staffing by establishing 12 departments and offices such as Office of the Party Committee and Office and Board of Directors.
April 24 and 25 – CISFC held the 18th meeting of the Risk Assessment Expert Committee for Insurance Industry.
May 8 – The Youth League Committee of CISFC held a lecture to mark the centenary of the May Fourth Movement.
May 13 – CISFC held the 17th (Interim) meeting of the Second Board of Directors to consider proposals for risk resolution.
May 31 – CISFC completed 2018 annual reconciliation. Upon assessment, insurance companies should contribute RMB 15.188 billion to the Insurance Security Fund and were required to fill a gap of RMB 1.626 billion.
May 22 to June 25 – In consistent with its efforts to restructure departments and staffing, the Party Committee of CISFC adjusted its Party branches by establishing seven Party branches and selecting secretaries and members of the new branch committees.
May and October – The Party Committee of CISFC organized two training sessions in Yan’an and Xi’an, titled “Follow the Footprint and Keep Up the Spirit of the Red Army,” to enhance Party consciousness.
June 17 to 22 – CISFC took the 2019 advanced training course on management at Peking University.
June 25 – CISFC, Sinopec Group, and SAIC Motor Corporation Limited jointly established the Dajia Insurance Group Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of RMB 20.36 billion.
June to August – The Party Committee of CISFC, on the basis of thorough preparations and careful organization, initiated an education program under the title of “Remaining True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind.” The program was distinctive and practical and achieved intended goals.
July 1 – Yu Hua, Secretary of the Party Committee of CISFC, gave a special Party lecture.
July 17 and 18 – CISFC fully launched the 2019 discipline inspection program by holding meetings to deploy and mobilize staff members.
July 29 – CISFC released the Risk Assessment Report on China Insurance Industry in 2019. The report notes that the insurance industry has achieved positive outcomes in its transformation and development in 2018, as demonstrated by gradual improvement in business structure and quality, steady enhancement of the security function, and an increasingly solid foundation for risk prevention.
August 21 – CISFC held a speech contest on “Me and My Motherland” to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
September 11 to November 26 – CISFC held a calligraphy, painting, and photography exhibition entitled “The Growth of Me and My Motherland” in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
September 18 to 26 – Yu Hua, Chairwoman and General Manager of CISFC, and Wei Zhuyong, Deputy General Manager of CISFC, led a delegation on a business exchange trip to the Belgian Guarantee Fund for Financial Services, Fonds de Garantie des Assurances Obligatoires de dommages (FGAO), the French Insurance Federation (FFA), and the Guarantee Scheme of German Life Insurers.
September 27 – CISFC Discipline Inspection Committee launched an education campaign among party members and non-party people at the Warning and Education Base for Strict Party Self-Governance in Beijing.
October 10 – CISFC convened the 19th (Interim) Meeting of the Second Board of Directors to consider proposals for risk resolution.
November 1 – The Youth League Committee of CISFC held the Symposium on Exchanges between the Secretary of the Party Committee and Young Employees.
November 12 – The Party Committee of CISFC organized party members and non-party people to visit the “Great Course and Brilliant Achievement Exhibition – Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China” at the Beijing Exhibition Center.
November 26 – CISFC was relocated to Fortune Resource International Center, No. 18 Taipingqiao Street, Xicheng District, Beijing.
December 3 – CISFC held the 2019 Meeting on Entrusted Asset Management and Investment Strategy, titled “High-Quality Development of Entrusted Asset Management in the New Era.”
December 4 – The Party Committee of CISFC held the Party Lecture on Implementing the Directives of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee & Meeting for Promoting the Directives of the Session. Yu Hua, Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a thematic speech.
December 5 and 10 – CISFC held the 19th meeting of the Risk Assessment Expert Committee for Insurance Industry separately in Beijing and Shanghai.
December 16 – Zhang Zhongliang, member of the Party Committee of CISFC and Secretary of the CISFC Discipline Inspection Committee, gave a Party lecture on Party conduct and clean governance.
December 20 – CISFC invited a professor from the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC to deliver a lecture on “Implementing the Directives of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee – Major Institutional Design in the New Era.”
In the year, the Party Committee of CISFC intensified its efforts to implement the fixed-point poverty alleviation policy in Wusutu, Chayouzhong, Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia. In particular, CISFC carried out a total of six projects aimed at reducing poverty, invested RMB 1.9 million directly and channeled RMB 83,600 through consumption into the town, and provided 30 women with training in rural women entrepreneurship, helping lift Wusutu out of poverty.
