January 12 – The CPC CISFC Committee held a briefing to inform its Party branches of the findings from Party inspections between 2019 and 2020.
January 29 – CISFC held the 2nd (ad hoc) Meeting of the Third Board of Directors, passing eight proposals including the Proposal on Creating Specialized Committees under the Board of Directors. At the meeting, the Board resolved to establish four specialized committees—Strategic Development Committee, Investment Assessment Committee, Risk Management Committee, and Audit Committee—and approved Zhou Fuping and Wang Tong as Deputy General Managers of CISFC.
February
February 2 – CISFC convened the 2021 Annual Work Conference themed “New Horizons for the China Insurance Security Fund in the 14th Five-Year Plan Period through High-Quality Development” and the 2021 work conference on strict Party self-governance, Party conduct, and clean governance.
February 10 – CISFC organized young cadres staying in Beijing during the Chinese New Year to bring season’s greetings to those who also chose to spend the holiday away from hometown.

March 5 – The CISFC Trade Union held the event of “Making Party Flags, Telling Party Stories, and Appreciating Party Works.”
March 25 – The CISFC Youth League Committee held the “Growing with the Company” event, where young employees had the opportunity to talk face-to-face with the Secretary of the CPC CISFC Committee.
March 31 – CISFC published the China Insurance Consumer Confidence Index Report. The Report indicates that the CICCI was 70.3 in 2020, reflecting strong confidence. By sector, the CICCI for life insurance and property insurance was 70.0 and 70.6, respectively.

April 8 – The CPC CISFC Committee organized a kickoff meeting for the Party history learning program and the (expanded) collective theoretical study session of the CPC CISFC Committee.
April 29 – The CISFC Youth League Committee organized all its members to visit the Memorial to the December 9th Movement as part of an event themed “Learning Party History, Strengthening Socialist Convictions, and Following the Party.”
May
May 11 – CISFC held a meeting on the reform of the Fund collection system to review the project team’s special report on the method and basis of Fund collection, the target Fund size, and the structure and rate of contribution, supported by an international comparative study and quantitative measurements.
May 27 – CISFC held the 3rd Meeting of the Third Board of Directors, which approved the annual work review and work plan as well as the annual budget and final accounts, and reviewed the report on preparations for CISFC’s development plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
May – The Ministry of Finance announced that the validity period of the Notice of the MOF and STA on the Preferential Tax Policies for the China Insurance Security Fund [Caishui [2018] No. 41] would be extended to December 31, 2023. The Fund will continue to be exempt from corporate income tax and stamp tax till the new date.

June 7 – The CPC CISFC Committee held a planning meeting and training session for the Party inspection program for 2021.
June 11 – CBIRC sent a team to CISFC for on-site inspection.
June 23 – CISFC organized a Party building event at Xibaipo and Zhengding themed “Revisiting Revolutionary History and Passing Down Revolutionary Traditions.”
June 25 – The 12th CBIRC circuit steering group for Party history education arrived at CISFC to oversee relevant programs. Yu Hua, Secretary of the CPC CISFC Committee, gave a Party lecture titled “Seek Strength and Wisdom from the Hundred-Year Party History and Open up New Horizons for the China Insurance Security Fund” to all Party and non-Party employees of CISFC.
June 25 – CISFC celebrated the 100th anniversary of CPC and recognized outstanding Party members, exemplary Party workers, and advanced community-level Party organizations.
June 30 – CISFC organized a cadres meeting. CBIRC Vice Chairman and CPC Committee Member Cao Yu spoke at the event. According to the appointment letter, Zhang Li will serve as the Deputy Secretary of the CPC CISFC Committee; by the resolution of the 5th (ad hoc) Meeting of the Third Board of Directors, he will also serve as the CISFC General Manager.
June – CISFC completed the annual account reconciliation for the Fund for 2020. The program covered 173 insurance companies for an audited contribution amount of RMB 14.176 billion. In particular, 76 insurance companies were exempted from RMB 805 million of contribution for their Hubei-based business; 19 were exempted from RMB 667 million of contribution to the Critical Illness Insurance Fund; 12 were eligible for contribution suspension; 4 applied for refund of RMB 229 million of excess contribution.

July 6 – CISFC held a special CPC Committee meeting on strict Party self-governance, to reiterate the key points of the speech by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Ceremony Marking the Centenary of CPC and the speech by Cao Yu at the CISFC cadres meeting.
July 8 to 9 – CISFC held the 22nd meeting of the Risk Assessment Expert Committee for Insurance Industry.
July 12 – CISFC held the kick-off meeting for the 2021 Party inspection program.
July 14 – CISFC held the 4th (ad hoc) Meeting of the Third Board of Directors, which passed the Proposal on the Transaction Plan of Dajia Insurance Group for Engaging Strategic Investors.
July 16 – The 98.78% equity of Dajia Insurance Group held by CISFC and Sinopec was listed for trading on the Beijing Financial Assets Exchange.
July 30 – CISFC held a presentation and performance event titled “Celebrating the One Hundred Years of Party History and Triumphs.”

August 16 – CISFC organized a review of the policyholder relief program, during which it heard the project team’s report on the process design, guidelines, and policy suggestions for policyholder reliefs.
August 30 – CISFC made plans for its paired assistance program in 2021, which contained an RMB 1 million funding to the Chaha’er Right Middle Banner to help the Wusutu Township consolidate its progress on poverty alleviation and smoothly transition to rural vitalization efforts.

September 6 – The kickoff meeting for the 2021 inspection tour of the Second Inspection Team of the CPC CBIRC Committee on the CPC CISFC Committee was held.
September 22 to 24 – Yu Hua, Secretary of the CPC CISFC Committee and Chairwoman of the Board, led a team to Chaha’er Right Middle Banner, Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia for visit and planning with the officials of Chaha’er and Wusutu Township, and signed a paired assistance donation agreement.
September 26 – CISFC held the 5th (ad hoc) Meeting of the Third Board of Directors, which passed three proposals including the Proposal on the 14th Five-Year Plan of the China Insurance Security Fund Company, and reviewed the report on the engagement of strategic investors for the Dajia Insurance Group and the liquidation of the Anbang Insurance Group.
September – CISFC released the Risk Assessment Report on China Insurance Industry 2021. The report noted that 2020 was a year of complex international situation and challenging domestic reforms, and that as the country continued to pursue difficult reform, development, and stability goals, the insurance industry too had to overcome its own risks and challenges.

October 13 – A delegation led by Wang Ning, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Beijing Municipal Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Member Group, visited CISFC and held an open-discussion meeting.
October 14 to 15 – CISFC held the 23rd Meeting of the Risk Assessment Expert Committee for Insurance Industry.
October 18 – CISFC published the 4th-anniversary issue (No. 25) of the Observation of Insurance Risk.
October 21 – CISFC held a special meeting to implement the directives of the 10th Meeting of the Central Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs.

November 2 to 5 – The collective theoretical study group of the CPC CISFC Committee held a special study session on Party history.

December 17 – CISFC was recognized as a “Leading Financial Enterprise under Other Central Departments and Authorities” in the 2020 assessment of Chinese financial enterprises’ financial statements conducted by the Ministry of Finance.
December 29 – CISFC held the 6th (ad hoc) Meeting of the Third Board of Directors, which passed two proposals including the Proposal on the 2022 Investment Plan of the China Insurance Security Fund, and reviewed the report on the 14th Five-Year Plan of the China Insurance Security Fund Company.
December 29 to 31 – CISFC promoted the 10th anniversary of its entrusted assets management business on media outlets including the Financial News.
December 30 – CISFC held a general staff meeting, which voted to adopt the Proposal on the Special Collective Contract on Protecting Female Employees (Draft).
