To begin with, this project reviews the experience and practices in the bailout of insurance companies based on relevant cases, including the American government’s bailout of AIG after the financial crisis in 2008, resolution of Taiwan GuoHua Life Insurance Co., Ltd., and risk resolution of New China Life Insurance Co., Ltd. and China United Property Insurance Company.

Secondly, this project reviews similar systems, particularly the bailout experience and practices of the deposit insurance system, and probes into the evolution of the American federal deposit insurance system, particularly related measures after the recent financial crisis, to arrive at corresponding enlightenments. In addition, this project simulates and estimates material crisis scenarios happening to insurance companies to forecast the amount of possible required bailout based on the pure risk and financial risk dimensions.

Finally, this project assesses the differences in financing options under different channels and mechanism arrangements, and puts forward some suggestions for reference.
